Project Life: 365 and a Crop!

Hello there...I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and that you are still enjoying the season!

I am THRILLED to announce a brand new monthly class beginning in January! I'm sooo excited about this class, I can hardly stand it! LOL! Introducing....PROJECT LIFE: 365! This great new class will help you document some very important moments in life....everday moments, to be exact! Think about how AMAZING it would be to document a whole year in your photo per day...and then actually scrapbook them all! How special would it be for your children and grandchildren, and THEIR children, to take a peek back at how you lived your life on a daily basis....what a truly precious treasure that will be!

And you can create that special photo a day for 365 days....and it's fast, simple and easy! It won't take you hours and hours to scrapbook 365 photos! (really! I promise!) You'll do it at our fun class each month....30-31 photos each month... scrapbooked, journaled and decorated cute....for your whole family to enjoy year after year!

Here's how it works:

1. Start by taking a photo every day, beginning Jan. 1, 2011! Seriously....just one photo! Well, you can take more than one photo, of course, then choose which photos you would like to use! Take photos of what you do each day... where you work, what you ate for breakfast, where you shop, hobbies you enjoy, what "chores" you do everyday, take photos of your loved ones and their everyday comings and goings, and photos about your relationship with each family member, special events that happen during the month, places you travel this coming year....even what you think might be the most mundane thing...will someday be a priceless memory, documented for your family for years to come! (wouldn't you LOVE to have something like this from your grandmother? It would be so fascinating to see how our grandparents or great-grandparents lived, day to day!) Your Project Life: 365 album can be a documentation of your family, or you may choose to document just your own personal daily life! (and we don't put ourselves in our scrapbooks nearly enough, do we? So this is a GOOD thing!)

2. Email me to sign up for the class! We will meet the 3rd Monday of every month...and there will be a morning AND an evening class! The first class will meet on Monday, Jan. 17th. The morning class starts at 10am, the evening class starts at 6:30pm.

3. The cost for each class each month will be just $15! OR....the kit will be FREE with a $35 order placed at the class! (before tax and shipping) And that will include a kit with all of the supplies you will need to scrapbook your daily photos from the previous month! Your Project Life:365 kit each month will include:

a. 4 Memory Protectors Photo storage pages (with 4x6 pockets, either horizontal or vertical) Sometimes we will also use our new Memory Protector Flips Flaps in the larger sizes (4x12, 6x12 and 8x12)

b. Enough CTMH cardstock and B&T papers (we'll use a different Level 2 paper pack each month!) to decorate some of the pockets on your pages, and do a monthly title page.

c. Several embellishments to make your pages "pop"! (Extra embellishments will be for sale at each class, in case you would like to jazz up your Life pages even more!

d. Use of my stamps and inks that coordinate with the papers used each month.

4. I will "design" a kit each month, and you can use my ideas, or create your own "custom" pages with the supplies in your kit!

5. Please bring the following to class each month:

Paper Trimmer
Adhesives (Tombow tape runner or other similar adhesive, Glue Dots, Foam Tape, etc.)

6. At the first class on Jan. 17th we will create a title page for your Project Life: 365 album, using NEW papers from the upcoming Spring/Summer Idea book! You will need to bring a recent family photo to put on your title page, or just a photo of yourself!
We will also decorate the cover of a small notebook that you can use to write down your journaling for each day! (and then you can transfer it to your album during class each month! need to sit and try to journal everything in one class!) Then in Feb., we will scrapbook your Jan. photos, in Mar. we'll scrap the Feb. photos, etc.
If you have to miss a class one month, your project kit will be held for you and given to you at a later time, to complete on your own, or you can work on it at the next class.

7. This class is designed to make preserving memories of your daily life fun, fast and easy! If you miss taking a photo one day, it's okay! (but do try really hard to capture one thing each day!) If you'd rather scrapbook just a few key photos for each month, and not take a photo each day, that's fine too! The point is, to document a whole year in your life with no stress or pressure to create gorgeous scrapbook pages for each month! We'll be focusing more on the photos and the journaling. Of course your pages will be adorable, it just won't take as long to create them! And, at the end of the year you will have that amazing book to share with will be soooo glad you did! I will be doing this project right along with the class, as well! I've been wanting to do this Project Life: 365 book for a couple of years now, and doing this class will get me going on it as well! I can't WAIT!

Photos of the title page and notebook, and some "daily" pages are coming soon, so watch for those!

So, what are you waiting for?? I KNOW you would LOVE to do this! Email me to sign up for this class today!! Spread the word to your friends and family as well...the more the merrier! Wouldn't it be tons of fun to have a "girls morning or night out" each month with your family and friends, AND get some serious scrapbooking accomplished?! I'll have a special gift for anyone who signs up for the class, and then refers a friend who also signs up! Seating is limited... It's going to be so much fun to go on this Project Life:365 journey together!

SAVE THE DATE: I'm also very excited to announce a scrapbooking CROP day in January! Come and scrapbook the day away on SATURDAY, JANUARY 29TH, from 9am-1opm! (at my home in Menifee!) Get caught up on some scrapbooking... maybe take a whole day to scrap your recent holiday photos! You'll have 13 hours of uninterrupted creative time! (sounds like heaven to me!)
Or, work on other projects you have been wanting to make time for...making some greeting cards, gift items, etc.!

You will have use of all my stamps and inks and tools, and some papers and embellishments will be for sale, should you need something! I will also have a "sale table", with stamps and other products for sale at great discounts!

Bring all of your own papers, and supplies, adhesives, paper trimmer, etc...and of course, your photos!

The cost for the day is only $10, and that includes snacks and beverages throughout the day, and pizza for dinner! (bring your own lunch if you'd like, or you can take a break and grab something for lunch at the nearby Menifee Marketplace...) We'll also have some drawings for fun prizes throughout the day!

Again, spread the word to your family, neighbors and friends! If you sign up for the crop, and then tell a friend who signs up, you will get a special gift!

Email me today to sign up! last thing (for today, at least! LOL!) for an announcement soon about the next Creative Journey day-long "mini-retreat", coming at the end of Feb. or beginning of March! It's going to be FAB. U. LOUS.!!!

Have a creative day!

On the 12th Day of Christmas....'s the grand finale! Well, I don't know how "grand" this little project is, but it's pretty stinkin' cute! These are the gifts I gave to my customers this year. It's just a small, flat paper bag, folded up from the bottom to create two pockets! Glue the sides together, then add patterned paper to the top, along with a cute tag and some "vintage" wrinkle ribbon and a jingle bell...and you have a darling little package to fill with yummy treats and gifts! What a fun presentation! (I was inspired by bags I saw online, created by Michelle Wooderson...I purchased the bags from her Etsy shop, as well)

I filled the bags with a little clear bag filled with Close To My Heart embellishments, a packet of hot cocoa mix, some chocolate and a candy cane! So, my friends can scrapbook and craft, while having a nice warm cup of cocoa, stirred with the candy cane for a minty flavor, and all the while munching on some chocolate! It doesn't get any better than that! LOL!
These would be fun for Valentine's Day, too! Or any occasion!

I have had so much fun sharing some holiday projects with all of you...I hope I've inspired you and brought you some Christmas cheer!

Thanks for coming along with me on the 12 Days of Christmas....I do plan to blog regularly from now on, so please do check back from time to time for more inspiration, Close To My Heart "news" and specials, and announcements of my upcoming workshops and classes!

Have a Merry, Merry Christmas!

Days 10 and 11....

Yesterday was a busy, busy today there are two projects to share!

First is a CUTE little mini-album, created from Close To My Heart's 3x3 Kraft Mini-album....but wait! It's not an's an ornament!'s album AND and ornament!

This project was inspired by my friend and fellow CTMH consultant, Lisa Stenz, who is amazingly creative and talented! She created this last year, and I changed it up a bit, according to what stamps I had on hand...and this is my version of her idea!

The album is covered with printed paper and then just add a stamped Christmas verse, some stamped images as embellishments and a pretty bow...and you are done!

But, here's how it works....
It opens to reveal some fun family photos....maybe some "year in review" shots, or photos of the grandkids! So place some fun memories inside, then hang it on your tree, to be enjoyed year after year!
Or, make it into a little "brag book"'s the perfect size to fit in your purse...and the perfect gift for grandma's, aunties, etc!
Would you like to make one of these adorable ornament/albums? You can...just sign up to come to my Creative Club this coming Thursday, Dec. 16th at 10am...and you will create one, and we will also make one other "surprise" project! Just place a min. $25 order (before tax and shipping) at the club day, and the projects are FREE!! (and FREE is good!) I have 4 extra kits this time....first come, first me TODAY to sign up and save your spot!
My Creative Club is an "open" club...meaning there is no monthly committment...come when you want or when you can...and just place the min. $25 order and the projects are FREE!
We have a great time creating home decor projects, holiday projects, gift wrap and presentation projects and more! All paper crafted with love and care!
Next up we have this darling Family Christmas Recipe album! This was a fun project from last year, created with our My Creations Display album! It's 6x6 in size, and comes with spiral-bound page protectors inside....just slip your album page or recipe pages in the sleeve! And the album stands up...which is REALLY nice when you are cooking and reading the recipe as you go along!
It was fun to create a special album to preserve family Christmas recipes, to be handed down from generation to generation! This is the cover....

and then the following are just a few of the inside pages.....

Makes a great gift! Hope this gave you some more great inspiration!
I'll be back (I promise!) for the 12th (and last) Day of Christmas tomorrow, so be sure and come back then!
And don't forget to email me to sign up for the Creative Club this Thurs!
Have a Merry, Merry weekend!

On the 9th Day of Christmas....

...I'm featuring this fun little 6x6 Memory Showcase "stand-up"album...a great little Christmas decoration for a shelf, table or mantel! It also makes a wonderful gift!

We created this at one of my Creative Clubs....where we create "everything BUT a scrapbook page. Of COURSE we used the Mistletoe really MUST order some of this gorgeous paper....and made it look all "vintage-y" by ink distressing and sanding! It was a really fun project! A couple of the stamp sets we used were the new "St. Nick" and "Father Christmas" set...LOVE THEM!

The back side of the Memory Showcase could actually be decorated with 4 more Christmas pages, but we did it in Halloween....2 projects in one! (I'll show you that another time!)
Just 5 more days to go...keep checking back and "following" my blog! And, be sure and tell your friends about my blog! Thanks!
Have a very Merry Day!

On the 8th Day of Christmas...

...we have a cute little Christmas card! And yes, those are the Mistletoe papers...I know, what a shock! LOL! I didn't design this card myself...I totally scraplifted it from the Close To My Heart Idea Book....the current 108! It's right above the Oct. Stamp of the Month! I love referring to my Idea Book over and over for ideas and inspiration! If you don't have a current Autumn/Winter Idea Book, and would like one, I have some extras! I'll get one to you asap...just email me!
This current Idea Book is good until Jan. 31st....then our brand new Spring/Summer Idea Book will be released on Feb. 1st, 2011!

On the 7th Day of Christmas...

...I bring you some "JOY"! Paper mache letters, that is! This was a fun project from a couple of years ago. I bought the letters at JoAnn's fabrics, painted them red, (just the sides and the back, no need to paint the front) then covered the front with our pretty B&T papers (the Christmas line from a couple of years ago). Just trace the letters onto the papers and adhere with Bonding Memories glue. Then embellish to your heart's delight!
These letters look cute on a mantel or a shelf, or even hang them on a wall...horizontally or vertically! And of course you can spell any "Christmas-y" word....too fun!

Hope this gives you a little inspiration for a Tuesday!

Have a Merry Day...I'll be back tomorrow! Be sure and sign up to follow the blog!

Is It The 6th Day of Christmas ALREADY??!!

Well, yes it is.....we are already half-way through our 12 Days of Christmas! I don't want it to's been so much fun sharing some Christmas cheer with all of you! So..... on the 6th Day of Christmas, you get...ornaments! Close To My Heart carries these fun Dimensional Elements (chipboard) ornament sheets that are so versatile! I created the card below using one of the larger ornaments on the sheet. I sponged the ornament with Desert Sand ink, then added Bonding Memories glue, and sprinkled Prisma Glitter all over the ornament! By sponging the chipboard first, you get a sort of "vintage", "antique" look to the glitter!

So these great little ornaments a can be a wonderful addition to a greeting card or a scrapbook page....or....
You can actually create personalized ornaments to hang on your tree! The ornaments have two pieces...and solid back piece, then the decorative front piece to glue on top of the back. As you can see below, I added photos to two of the ornaments.

I sponged the top pieces with Cranberry or Garden Green or New England Ivy inks...that seems to be the fastest, easiest way to add color to the ornaments (they come white). But, you could paint them, cover them with cardstock or B&T (printed) papers, stamp on them, etc. The possibilities are endless! On some of the ornaments, I put B&T paper on the backing piece, so it shows through.
I also added some stamped images, ribbon bows, a poinsettia brad from the Mistletoe embellishement assortment, and some of our adorable Pearl Opaques Adhesive Gems for some added "blingage". Hang with a ribbon or string, and you are good to go!
The ornaments would make cute tags on a gift, as well! And at $4.95 for 6 ornaments on a sheet...that's a good deal!
Happy Ornament-Making!
Today is the very last day to sign up for the 3 Ring Binder Mini Album class (see the 1st Day of Christmas post!) Call or email me today to sign up!
Have a very Merry Monday! I'll be back tomorrow with another fun project to share!

The 5th Day of Christmas brings....

...little wooden blocks that spell "NOEL"! This is another project that my Creative Club made last month! The blocks are actually quite easy to complete...hubby cut some 2x4's into square blocks (they actually come out 3 1/2 x 3 1/ can cut them any size) and sanded the wood. I painted the blocks a cream color. Then just add the papers...Cocoa cardstock cut to 3x3, Mistletoe paper prints (there's that Mistletoe paper again...told ya I love it! LOL!) cut to 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 and layer those together. Add Dimensional Elements Lower Case letters to spell NOEL, and then add small stamped images, a poinsettia brad, and tiny tag and some ribbons for embellishment! Fast, easy, cute and inexpensive! Makes a great gift!
Of course you could spell out other words...JOY, Merry Christmas, etc!

Happy Creating and have a Merry Sunday today!

On the 4th Day of Christmas....

...I made some cute gift card holders! Actually, we created these at my monthly Creative Club last month! It's really fun to make a cute holder when giving gift cards...makes it a little more personal!

The holder on the left with the Christmas tree was created with...umm...yes....the Mistletoe papers! But I also used a great new stamp set in Autumn/Winter's called "A Timber", and it features 7 CUTE images: the darling tree, the Happy Holidays word, a gift box, a bow for the top, a star, and ornament and a pretty swirl. And it's priced at only$7.95! It's a great bargain, and a very versatile little stamp set! I love it!
I used the tree, the Happy Holidays and the star stamps from that set on the card holder below. Scroll down to the 2nd photo to see the inside...the gift card fits perfectly into that middle piece!

The gift card holder shown on the right was created with the adorable "Jingle" paper line from last year! (yes, it's still available to purchase!) It's in the shape of a present...and the lid lifts up and the gift card slides out! (see this photo) Add a pretty ribbon bow and a tag and it's done! Easy peasy!
If you would enjoy creating projects like these, my monthly Creative Club is for you! We create "everything BUT a scrapbook page"...paper-crafted gift items, home decor items, holiday items, gift presentation projects and more! It's a really fun club...and we'd love to have you join us! We meet on the 3rd Thursday morning of each month at 10am...but if enough people are interested I would love to start an evening session of this fun club! Let me know if you are interested or have any questions!
I'll be back tomorrow with another great project!
Hope you have Merry weekend!

On the 3rd Day of Christmas... true love gave to me....a Christmas banner that says, "Believe"! We created this fun holiday banner at my Creative Journey mini-retreat last month! It can be hung on a mantel, across a shelf or a door way, or on a bench on your front porch! (see the photos!)

The Believe banner was made using the Mistletoe papers, the stripe and the snowflake pattern. To make a banner "flag", cut a piece of cardstock 6x12. Fold in half. Mark the 3" spot on the fold. Cut with a paper trimmer from the 3" mark, at an angle, down to the bottom right corner of the paper. Then repeat for the other side.
Top the cardstock with the printed papers (I alternated the prints). I punched a border out of Cocoa cardstock to top each printed paper. Add a Dimensional Elements chipboard letter to the center of each flag. Cut a piece of ribbon (or twine, or whatever you would like to use) long enough to hold all of the flags...then place each flag over the ribbon, side by side. (remember you have a folded flag piece) Use Liquid Glass at the inside fold of each flag to glue it all together.
Hang and enjoy! You can spell out any word you would like...JOY, PEACE, LOVE, MERRY CHRISTMAS....the possibilities are endless!

Now....very soon you won't have to cut the backing paper for the banners....Close To My Heart will be introducing a brand new My Creations chipboard banner!!! It's awesome, and it will be available to order from our upcoming, special "Inspirations" brochure, starting Jan. 1st!
I will definitely be offering some classes creating fun banners with this new product when it is released, so watch for those class announcements in Jan.!

Don't forget the amazing special CTMH has going this an order of just $20, (before tax and shipping) on my website, and CTMH will send you a retiring "D-sized" stamp set (valued at $22.95!!), FREE!! CTMH will choose the stamp set and surprise you! Your purchase is more than doubled in value with that FREE stamp set! Don't miss out on this great special!
Be sure to sign up to follow this blog! When I get 50 followers, I'll have a drawer for a FREE Close To My Heart stamp set!
Make it a MERRY day!

12 Days of Christmas...Day 2!

Good morning and welcome to Day 2 of The 12 Days of Christmas! Today's project is a scrapbook page, created with the beautiful "Mistletoe" papers from Close To My Heart (of course!) AND our brand new "Flip Flaps"! Flip Flaps are large "pockets" that attach to a page protector. They come in 3 sizes: 4"x12", "6"x12" and 8"x12"...and they are sooo fun and versatile! (they also come in separate package of 4"x6" size Flip fun!) I've used the 6"x12" size on this project....there are 2 Flips Flaps that fold out (scroll down to the 2nd photo to see the project "closed". I just used cardstock and B&T paper as the "pages" inside the Flip Flaps, (so you basically create a "half" page to put inside) and fun embellishements, then the Flip Flaps stick right onto the edges of the 12x12 page protector! How COOL is that??

So in the space of just one page, I've actually created THREE pages! And there is space for 11 photos! This is GREAT for those of you who like to put lots of photos on their pages! Flip Flaps will make your pages more fun and interesting, and you will save space in your albums, as well!

And, best of all, Flip Flaps are inexpensive! Just $3.95 for a package of 8! You get 4-6"x12", 2-4"x12" and 2-8"x12" Flip Flaps!! That is a BARGAIN!

We are creating this page today at my Consultant Club, (it's a monthly "club" for consultants on my team...we create a "wowser" project each month, and then they can teach it or share it with their own customers.. we have so much fun creating together.....if you would like to join my team and join in on our Consultant me for more info, or head to my website and sign up! It's fast and easy... ....and only $129 to join!), and we also created this page at my "Creative Journey" workshop last month!

And, have I mentioned how much I LOVE our Mistltoe papers?? This has to be my ALL-TIME favorite Christmas line from CTMH....I can't get enough of it! It's traditional, yet a little "vintage"...and I can't seem to stop creating with it!

If you would like to order some Mistletoe for yourself, or try out the new Flip Flaps, you can email me or place the order on my website: ! And, in case you haven't heard, CTMH has an amazing special going on right now....if your purchase just $20 in CTMH products (any products!) on my website this month, you will receive a FREE D-sized ($22.95 value!!) stamp set from CTMH!! Wow!! That is an awesome special that virtually doubles the value of your purchase! The FREE stamp set will be chosen by CTMH for you, from a large selection of retiring D-sized stamp you'll get a FUN surprise when your order arrives! This special is only good on website orders....

Here's the project "closed"....

Enjoy your day...take some time to enjoy the season...slow some creating for yourself...
I'll be back tomorrow with another fun project to share!

Okay, let the "12 Days of Christmas" begin!

First up is this adorable mini-album, created with our fun 3-ring Binder Mini Album! (it's all white, and comes with 5 white, tabbed pages inside) I wanted to do something a little different with this one, and I wanted a "vintage" look to I've use the back sides of some of our gorgeous new Mistletoe papers....that are all done in beautiful neutral, muted colors! (I simply cannot get enough of those Mistletoe papers!!) It's fun "monochromatic" look!

On the cover I used the new stamp set "A Timber", and also "Snow Flurries" for the stamped flourish. The word stamp, "Sharing the Magic" is from the Oct. Stamp of the Month, "Share The Magic". I did all kinds of distressing on the cover and the inside...sponging, edge distressing and "curling".....

This is one shot of the cover....
...and a second photo of the cover....

And this is a sneak-peek of just one of the pages inside...those are little pull-out tags, and a paper ruffle...and some of the other pages have pull-out pieces for photos or's very "interactive"....and that makes it really unique! I had so much fun creating this special little album! It would make a fabulous gift for someone on your list.....
Would you like to learn some of these great techniques and create one of these mini-albums?? Well, I've scheduled this project as a class!! I'm offering two class days....
